The MEA is dedicated to attracting and retaining the highest quality employees because students benefit from great educators
MEA leaders volunteer for key MCPASD committees that influence student learning conditions and educator working conditions.
MEA wants our starting educators to be able to build wealth. Dues fund WEAC’s (Wisconsin Education Association Council, the state-wide union) members-are-free Degrees Not Debt Workshop and NEA’s (National Education Association) Student Debt Navigator. Helping starting educators be economically viable helps retain quality staff.
The MEA is a constant voice that the teacher’s working environment IS the students learning environment
MEA supports District equity initiatives, social justice, and high-quality, inclusive public education for all students. In addition, WEAC and NEA fight for student voice and inclusion across the state and nation.

MEA is recognized by both the District Administration and BOE as the official organization representing certified staff.
MEA meets monthly with District Administration to ensure all education professionals are included in decision-making for students and our professional community.
MEA represents certified staff at each BOE meeting to support student-centered decisions.
MEA appoints two positions on both the Handbook and Benefit and Compensation Committees to ensure equitable representation of all staff. Staff Survey-Provided a safe space for staff to share feeling and concerns facing them in their current professions and needs, forward the information to the BOE and Superintendent
MEA mentors staff involved in awareness plans, plans of improvement, and/or grievances to ensure supportive partnerships and professional growth.
WEAC and NEA advocate for state and national funding
WEAC and NEA help bring teacher voice to legislative process
